About NeuroEd Consultancy
NeuroEd Consultancy was established by Kathryn to provide an integrated approach to psychological and educational support. As both a Registered Psychologist and a Victorian Registered Teacher, Kathryn brings a dual perspective to her work, recognising that a young person’s emotional wellbeing and their educational journey are fundamentally connected. Her professional background includes extensive experience teaching across both primary and secondary school settings, with specialisation in inclusive education and learning interventions.
At the heart of the consultancy is a commitment to neuro-affirming and evidence-based care. This approach is designed to respect and support the natural diversity in how individuals learn, think, and communicate. Rather than focusing solely on challenges, Kathryn seeks to understand an individual’s unique profile through a lens of identity and personal agency. Her work is guided by established psychological frameworks, including developmental and educational psychology, to help families navigate the intersection of mental health and learning with clarity.
Kathryn provides comprehensive assessments to identify individual learning and processing profiles, including evaluations for school readiness, giftedness, and neurodivergence such as ADHD or specific learning differences. In her therapeutic work, she utilises evidence-based modalities such as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) to support emotional regulation, school-related transitions, and wellbeing. These services are complemented by targeted educational interventions, focusing on literacy, numeracy, and executive functioning skills.
A central element of the consultancy is collaborative advocacy. Kathryn works alongside parents, educators, and health professionals to assist in the development of supportive environments, including contributing to Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and school-based support strategies.
